Sleepy Hollow, designed by Ontario Golf Hall of Fame member James Johnstone Sr. opened for play in the spring of 1960.

Standing beside what is now the 9th. green, Mr. Johnstone and his partner Bert Turcotte looked towards the 18th. fairway after a day of moving earth, planting trees and caring for their new venture remarked that the 18th. fit nicely into that sleepy little hollow. The club now had a name.
