The Club at Starr Pass

Part of the JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort & Spa, it is renowned for its rugged Sonoran Desert beauty, dramatic elevation changes, and its history as a former host of the PGA Tour’s Tucson Open.

The club features three distinct nine-hole courses that can be played in various 18 hole combinations. Each is named after local wildlife and offers a unique challenge:

The Rattler: The longest and most “championship” in feel, featuring significant desert carries and highly elevated tee boxes with sweeping valley views.

The Roadrunner: The shortest of the three but arguably the most dramatic, winding through deep arroyos and canyons with frequent elevation shifts.

The Coyote: Known for its serenity and proximity to nature, this layout sits on the quieter side of the property and is a prime spot for viewing deer, quail, and javelinas.

Originally designed by Robert Cupp and Craig Stadler in 1987, the facility was later enhanced by Arnold Palmer, who added the third nine and refreshed the original 18.
